June Court 1717 214 in the Province afd Chirurgeon the first day of Aprill in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven hundred & Sixteen at the Parish of St Pauls in Queen Annes County afd (that is to Say) at the Parish of St. Pauls in Kent County afd & within the Jurisdiciõn of this Court Stood - justly indebted to the Said John in the afd Sume of two Thousand pds of Tobacco of the value of Sixteen pounds Sterling due to the Said John for attorney fees as by the Accot thereunto annexed may more particu. :larly appear and that he the Said Thomas the Said first day of Aprill in the year afd after the Publication of the Said Act being an Inha : :bitant of the Said County of Kent in this Province did transport or convey or cause to be transported or Conveyed from the Said County of Kent & within the Jurisdiciõn of this Court by water the afd Oliver being a— freeman to the place commonly called or known by the name of Bohe: :mia Landing in Bohemia River at the head of the Bay of Chesapeake over & beyond the North Side of Sarsafras or Susquehannah Rivers he the Said Oliver at the Same time of Such his Conveyance as afd not~ having any Such Pass or Passes Signed by the Governour keeper of the Seal or Secretary of the afd Province of Maryland and the Same Oliver not having under the hand or hands of any Justices of the peace (Sealed as afd) of the Said County of Queen Annes or the Said County of Kent where ye Said Oliver did dwell as in and by the Said Act is — required And the Said John in fact further Says that the Said Oliver hither to hath not any wise Satisfied contented or paid him the Said John the Said Sum or quantity of two Thousand pounds of Tobacco or any part and that the Said Thomas who transported the Same Oliver to Bohemia Landing as afd did not within one month after Such the Said Olivers transportation to Bohemia as afd procure or cause the Said Oliver to return or be brought back to Kent County^asafd whereby the Said Oliver might be lyable to the prosecution of Such Suits as Should be commenced or brought against him as by the Said Act Still in force he the Said Thomas is enjoyned and required by which action accru: :ed to the Said John to have and require of the Said Thomas the Said Sum or quantity of Two Thousand pounds of Tobacco Nevertheless the afd Thomas altho’ often required the Said Sum or quantity of Two — Thousand pounds of Tobacco to the Said John hath not rendered but to the Said John hitherto to render hath altogether gainsayed & Still doth- gainsay to the damage of the Said John Tenn pounds Sterlg and thereupon he brings Suite &ca.
