March Court 1716 170 and to the Said Amos then and there faithfully promised that he the Sd Philip So much Currant money of Maryland afd as the Goods wares & Merchandizes as Sold & delivered as afd at the time of the Sale & delivery thereof at Reasonable rates and values were worth and amounted unto the Said Amos when thereunto afterwards required would well and truly pay and Content and ye afd Amos in deed Saith that the afd goods wares & Merchandizes afd Sold and delivered as afd at the time of the Sale & delivery thereof at reasonable rates and values were worth and — amounted unto the Sume of four pounds fourteen Shillings and four pence Currant money of the afd Province of Maryland as in the Sd Account Set forth of which the Said Philip had then and there notice and that whereas also the afd Philip afterwards vizt ye twentynineth day of December in the year one Thousand Seven hundred & fourteen~ afd at St Pauls Parish in Kent County afd & within the Jurisdiciõn afd in Consideration ye afd Amos had then and there last Said at the Special Instance & request of the Said Philip Sold & deliver’d to the Said Philip own use ye divers wares and Merchandises in an acco.t~ ready to be produced here in Court at the rates & values in the Said Acco mentioned amount: :ing in ye whole to the Sume of four pounds fourteen Shillings & four pence Currt. money of ye afd Province upon himself assum’d and to the Said Amos then and there faithfully Promised that he the Said Philip the afd Sum of four pounds fourteen Shillings & four pence Currant & pay which afd when thereunto required would well and truly Content & pay which afd Severall Sums of Currant money afd in ye whole amount unto the Sume of nine pounds Eight Shillings & Eight pence Currant money afd and altho the afd Philip afterwards at S.t Pauls Parish in Kent County & within the — Jurisdiciõn afd to witt the first day of January Anno Domini One Thousand - Seven hundred and fourteen afd paid and Satisfied the afd Amos the Sume of three pounds & Eight pence Currant money afd part of the afd Nine pounds Eight Shills & Eight pence Currant money afd yet the afd Philip his promise & assumption afd as to the Sume of Six pounds Eight Shills Currant money of the afd Province residue litle regarding but altogether minding and fraudulently Intending him the Said Amos in this part Craftily & Subtilly to deceive & defraud the Said Six pounds Eight Shills Currant money afd to the Said Amos altho’ afterwards to wit ye fifth day of January Anno — Domi one Thousand Seven hundred & fourteen afd at S.t Pauls Parish in Kent County and within the Jurisdiciõn afd and divers other days & times as well before as Since he the Said Philip was thereto required hath not paid nor made Content therefore but that to pay or Content the Said Philip hitherto hath denied & yet denys to the damage of the Said Amos — twelve |
