   16                                     June Court 1716
   Indictments & offereth himselfe against the afd Jane and She being
   called came and in her proper person appeared to the afd Indictment~
   ordered by this Court here that the afd Jane prove the begittor .
   the Same Jane takes her corporall oath on the holy Evangelists of
   Almighty God and Saith that a certain James Doarn of this County
   was the person committed fornication with her and thereby did beget
   a Child on her body   on which She Submitts herselfe on the Same to
   this Court and prays that the Court will be favourable to her Therefore
   it is Considered by the Court here vizt this nineteenth day of June
   Anno Domi 1716 That the afd Jane Gibbin be taken to the whyping
   post and to receive on her bare back twenty one lashes till the blood
   appr. for Committing the offence of fornication afd and also pay
   ye Sume of Three hundred and Seventeen pounds of Tobacco Cost arrising
   on the premises afd
   It is Considered by the Court here also That William Frisby Gentln high~
   Sherf of Said County take the afd Jane Gibbin to the publique whyping
   post and to Receive as in the Judgment afd and then to bring into Court-
   againe
   After w.ch the Same day last mentioned came the afd Sherf and made
   return of his Said precept in all things Served and Executed pr Wm Ffrisby Sher
   ordered by the Court here that the Said Jane return to her Masters Service
   ordered by the Court here that the Said Jane at the Expiration of her time
   be delivered by her Mastr. to the Sher or Court &ca

   His Lord Ship | The Said James entred into Recognizance at last Court
         ——— | for his apce. to this Court. and now at this Court aprs.
       — at | to the Same    ordered by the Court here that his -
   James Doarn- | Recognizance and Sureties be discharged
   James Doarn afd his Recognizance taken at the time afd in the Sume
   of tenn pounds Sterlg for apce. as afd to answer unto what Should be objected
   ag.st him on his Said Lord Ships behalfe and in the mean time to be of
   good behaviour &ca. and at this Court no person Shewing any cause why
   the Same Should not be discharged This Court here discharges the Same
   Nathaniel Pearce & William Jones at the time afd entered into Recognie
   in the Sume of five pounds Sterlg Each Sureties of the afd James Doarn
   for his appearance as afd to answr. as afd and to be of good behaviour
   as afd This Court here discharges the Same Recognizances Each of them
   The afd James Doarn being charged with Committing fornication with
   a certain Jane Gibbin and thereby begott a Child on her body as by
   the Record above against her appears and the afd James in his —
