                                      March Court 1714/15
   Underhill Ralph Distaine John Greenwood which Jury being duely
   Elected tryd and Sworn and haveing heard the Pleading Evidences &
   allegations on both Sides do depart from the Barr and after Some time
   do againe return to the barr and being Called over do all appeare &
   the Prosecutor and Party do Likewise appear   And the afd Jury being
   asked whether they are agreed on a verdict or not do Say they are agreed
   on a verdict and being Asked whether they find the Party Guilty or
   not Guilty as She Stands Indicted Do Say that the afd Mary Jones
   is not guilty as She Stands Indicted and by John Moll there foreman
   all So Say   But the afd Jury do Say that the afd Mary Jones.
   is Guilty of fornication and by the afd foreman they do all So
   Say: And the afd John Johnson Clarke of the Indictments prays —
   Judgment on the Verdict of the Jurors afd. Therefore it is Considered
   by the Court here viz this Eighth day of Aprill Anno Domini one.
   Thousand Seven hundred and fifteen That the afd Mary Jones have.
   thirty nine Lashes on her bare back till the blood appeare for .
   Committing fornication (as by ye afd Jury found) According to Act of —
   Assembly in Such Case made &ca. and also Pay the Sume of Six hundred Sixty
   and Seven—    pounds of Tobacco Cost Accrueing to the officers of this
   Court on the Premises &ca—
   It is Considered by the Court here viz.t the Same day last mentioned
   That William Frisby Gent high Sherf of Said County take the -
   afd Mary Jones into his Custody and Carry her to the whyping Post
   and there to Receive on her bare back as in the Judgment afd.
   is Expressed and when the afd Stripes Executed to bring her into Court
   After which the Same day last mentioned Came the afd Sherf and-
   made return of his precept against the afd   Mary Jones vizt in all
   things Served and Executed pr Wm Frisby Sherf .
