March Court 1714/15 86 body of Kent County upon their Oath do prsent that Mary Jones late of Worton Hundred in the County afd Spinster on the first day of March in the first year of the Reigne of our Sovereigne Lord King George of Great Brittaine &ca. at Worton Hundred in the County afd & within the Juris: :diccõn of this Court the fear of God before her eyes not haveing did - comitt fornication with a Certain Negro man to the Jurors unknown and did thereby Suffer herselfe to begott with Child to the High- Displeasure of Almighty God against the peace of our Sovereigne Lord the King that now is his Crown & Dignity & against the forme of an Act of Assembly of this Province now in force in Such Case made & Provided . . Johnson pr Doms Rege Evidence Ebenez Blackiston Billa vera pr Edwd Plesto foreman And the afd Mary in her Proper Person appeared to the afd Indictmt. and Prays that She may have an Attry. to plead for her Thom Bowne is ordered to be her Attry . . And now Comes the - afd Mary by Thomas Bowne her Attry and defends the force and injury when &ca. And for Plea Saith that She is not Guilty of the - prmises afd and for tryal puts herselfe on the County T Bowne pr Deft~ And he who Prosecutes for our Sovereigne Lord the King Says She is guilty . Johnson pr Doms Rege Thereupon Command was given to the Sherf of Kent County that he Cause to Come here Twelve &ca. By whome &ca. Who neither &ca. To Reognize &ca. Because as well &ca.
