                                         March Court 1714/15                                        78  
   high Sherf of Said County and made return thereof in these words thereon—
   endorsed as foll vizt. Cepi Corpus pr Wm Ffrisby Shr
      And the Said Deft Came and in her proper person appeared to the —
   above accõn and prayd liberty thereof to imparle thereto and to Answer
   at next Court which is granted the Same day is given the Plt also
      Att which Said next Court vizt the [Second?] day of November in the first year
   of his Majesty King George &ca. The afd Cause was Continued untill the .
   then next Court in Course &ca.
        Att which Said next Court vizt the first day of March ye Same year
   last mentioned Came the Said Plt. by Thomas Bowne his attry & declare
   as foll vizt. Maryland Kent County Ss Ffrances Crawford late of Kent County
   Widow Relict & Admrx. of ye goods & Chattells rights & Creditts which were
   of James Crawford late of Sd County Clark deceased at ye Time of his death.
   who died intestate as tis Said Stand Attached to Answer unto Thomas.
   Crawford of a plea of Trespass upon the Case And whereupon the Said -
   Thomas by Thomas Bowne his attry complains that whereas the Said
   James in his life time to wit the twenty Seventh day of December in
   the Year of our Lord one Thousand Seven hundred and Twelve at the .
   Parish of S.t Pauls in the County of Kent afd in Consideration that the afd Thoms.
   Crawford at the Special instance & request. of the Said James in his life
   time & to & for the proper use & behoofe of the Said James in his life
   time had paid to Severall persons the Sume of Seven pounds Nine Shillings
   & nine pence Currt. money of America as by an Account annexed appeare did
   assume upon himselfe & to the Said Thomas Crawford then and there
   faithfully promised that he the Said James in his life time the Said Sume
   of Seven pounds Nine Shillings and Nine pence to the Said Thomas Crawford
   when he Should be thereunto required would well & truly content & pay
   and whereas the Said James in his life time to wit the day & year at the
   parish afd in the County and Jurisdiction afd in Consideration that the .
   afd Thomas Crawford had Sold and delivered to the Said James in his —
