March Court 1714 Called England as of this our Province of Maryland for the good and Conservation of the peace and Quiet Rule & Government of our people within our Said County in all and every the articles therein Expressed according to the forme Fforce & Effect of the Same and to. Chastize & Punish all or any Person or Persons offending against any the Said ordinances or Statutes according to the directions thereof and to call before y.o or any of you all these who. in our County afd Shall threaten to do any bodily harm to any of our good people or to burn their houses or otherwise break our peace and misbehave themselves to find Suff.t Security of the peace and good behaviour to us and our good people and if they Shall refuse to find Such Securety that then you Cause them to be Committed into Safe Custody untill they Shall find ye Same also we have assigned you and every three or more of you of whome wee will you the Said James Harris William Pott Edward Scott and William Comegys or one of you Always to be one our Justices to Enquire by the Oaths of good and Lawfull men of our County afd by . whom the truth of the premises may be the better known of all and all manner of felonies witchcrafts Enchangments Sorceries Arts Magick Tresspasses Engroseings regrateings - forestallings & Extortions Whatsoever and of all and other Misfeazances and offences — whatsoever of which Justices of our peace Lawfully may or ought to enquire by — whomsoever or howsoever in our County afd done or Committed or which may hereafter happen to be done or Attempted and also of all those who in our County afd in riotus . manner have gone or rode or Shall hereafter presume to go or ride with — Armed force against our peace to the disturbance of our people and of all Such who in our County afd have laine or Shall hereafter presume to lye in waite to . maim or kill any of our Said people and also of all ordinary keepers and Such other persons who have offended or attempted to offend or hereafter Shall presume to offend or attempt to offend in the abuses of weights or measures or in Selling of any Liquors. according to the formes of the Acts of Assembly for the Common good and profitt now in this province made used and also of the Sherrife baylife Cunstables and other officers who have or Shall hereafter misbehave themselves in the Execution of there Office or have been fearfull remise or negligent in the Execution thereof or Shall hereafter happen So to be within our County afd and of all & Every the articles matters and things whatsover howsoever or by whomsoever in our County afd done or Committed or that Shall hereafter happen to be done or Attempted Concerning the premises or any of them and to Inspect all Indictments So before y.o or any of you taken or to be taken or before our late Justices of the peace within our Said County had and taken and not Yet determined and - process thereon ag.st all or any person or persons So Indicted or which Shall hereafter happen to be Indicted within our County afd to make and Continue untill they Shall be. taken Surrender themselves or our Lawes and to hear and Determine all & every |
