                                                   June Court 1714                                                   23  
   on which A Presentment was prefered [?] to the Grand Jury impanneled for the Body of .
   Said County and on there Oath did find and make Presentmt. of the Said Samuel
   Exell for Teaching and Preaching in an unlawfull assembly &c.a which presentment was
   by Thomas Bowne Clark of the Indictmts. framed into a Bill of Indictment as
   folls viz.t   Kent County in Maryland Ss The Juriors for our Sovereigne Lady .
   y.e Queen that now is and the body of Kent County afd upon their Oath present
   that Samuell Exell of ye Parish of S.t Paul in Kent County afd Labourer a Subject
   of this Realm above ye age of Sixteen years the Twenty fifth day of December .
   in the Year of our Lord Christ Seventeen hundred & Thirteen had Departed from
   his place of habitacõn and afterwards that is to Say on the afd Twenty fifth
   day of December in the year afd about the hour of one of Clock after [noone.?]
   in the Same Day with force & Armes &ca. at the Dwelling house of A Certain—
   Mary Bowles then & there Situated & being in ye afd Parish of S.t Pauls in Kent
   County afd within ye Jurisdiccõn of this Court did take upon him and did Preach
   & touch in an Assembly Conventule [?] & meeting of divers Severall persons Subjects
   of this Realm to the Jury unknown above ye Number of five over & besides
   those of the Said Marys houshold And each & every of themselves above the
   Age of Sixteen Years who before had & each and every of them had departed
   from there Severall & respectives Places of Abode & then & there had unlawfully
   Assembled themselves together at one Instant of June in the Same Day in
   one Room in the afd Dwelling house of the afd Mary Bowles under Colour
   & Pretence of the Exercise of Religion contrary to the Liturgy & Practice of ye.
   Church of England And of this Province in Contempt of our Said Lady the Queen
   and to the great perturbation of the peace of the Said Lady the Queen in evill~
   Example of all others in like Cause of Delinquency & against the form of—
   Divers & Severall Statutes & an Act of Assembly of this Province in Such Case.
   made & Provided    TBowne pr Domi Reg.a   on the Back of the preceeding
   Indictm.t was Endorsed as folls vizt Billa vera pr Philp Holeager foreman———
   Evidences John Moll Wm Glanvill Francis Cooke Francis Barney Francis Barney Junr.
   John Jones Vivian Beck Michael Hackett    and the Said Samuel being
