   Said Deft be taken into Custody &ca.

   Edward Hambleton | Kent County Maryland Ss John King
           at | late of Kent County Planter was attached
     John King — | to Answer unto Edward Hambleton of
   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ | a plea of Trespass on ye case And Whereupon
   the Said Edward by John Johnson his attry complains that whereas the
   Said Edward Anno Domi one Thousand Seven hundred & tenn in the
   County afd & within ye Jurisdiciõn of this Court by Lawfull Lycence kept
   an ordinary or house of Publick entertainment & So keeping ordinary
   the Same Edward the twenty fifth day of August Anno Domi one Thousand
   Seven hundred & tenn afd at the Parish of S.t Pauls in the County afd &
   within the Jurisdiciõn of this Court at the Special Instance & request of -
   the Said John King had Sold & delivered to ye Said John King & to the Sd
   John Kings proper use & behoofe divers liquors & other ordinary acco:
  :modations in an Acco.t thereof comencing the Said twenty fifth day of~
   August in the year afd & ending the fourteenth day of February then next
   following hereunto annexed & in Court brought expressly are Shewn Amount
  :ing in the whole at lawfull rates to ye Sume of four hundred Sixty & Six pounds
   of Merchantable Tob.o In consideration whereof ye Sd John King ye afd fourteenth day
   of Febry. in ye year afd at ye Parish County & Jurisdiciõn afd upon himselfe~
   assumed & to ye Said Edward then & there last Said faithfully promised that he ye Said
   John King the afd four hundred Sixty & Six pounds of Tobo. unto ye Sd Edward when
   afterwards he Should be thereunto required would well & truly content & pay
   Nevertheless the afd John King his promise & assumpcõn afd in form afd
   made little minding but fraudulently intending the Said Edward in this behalfe
   craftily & Subtilly to deceive & defraud the Said four hundred Sixty Six
   pounds of Tobacco altho’ to do the Same the Said John King the first day of
   May in the Year one Thousand Seven hundred & fourteen at the Parish .
   County & Jurisdicion afd by the Said Edward hath been thereto required (to the
   Said Edward hath not paid) nor any ways contented for the Same but the
   Same to pay he hath hitherto refused & Still doth refuse whereupon~
   he Says he is worse and hath damage to ye value of one thousand
                                                                                           pounds
