   day of 9.ber in the year of our Lord Christ Seventeen hundred & fourteen
   he was at ye Parish of St. Paul in Kent County afd within ye. Jurisdiciõn of
   this Court thereto required hath not rendered or paid But the Same to
   render or pay ye Said William hitherto hath denied & yet denys &
   unjustly detains to the Damage of the Said Renatus twenty pounds
   Sterling money and thereupon he brings Sute &ca. TBowne pr
   Querr plegs &ca John Doe & Richard Roe
   And the afd Deft~ being Committed unto Custody of the Sherf of~
   Said County for want of Special bayle &ca.
    Att which Said next Court viz.t the Seventh day of August Anno
   Domi 1715 The Same Cause was Contd. untill the then next Court—
   Att which Said next Court viz the fifteenth day of Novemb.r ye
   Same year last mentioned the Same Cause was Continued untill
   the then next Court~.
   Att which Said next Court viz this twenty fourth day of March—
   the Same year last mentioned Came the afd Plt by his afd Attry
   and prayd the Said Deft might to his Decln So as afd Set forth
   might Answer    And this Court doth give rule that the afd —
   Deft to have four hours time to plead after which the afd Plt
   by his attry Prays that the afd Deft~ may be Called to Answer &ca
   And the afd Deft being Solemnly Called Came not nor doth not
   any wayes Say any thing in barr of the accõn afd So that the
   Plt may remain Still without defence Therefore it is Considered
   by the Court here viz this twenty fourth day of March Annoque
   Domi one Thousand Seven hundred and fifteen That the afd
   Plt Renatus Smith Recover against the Said Deft~ William Halts .
   as well the afd Sume of Three Thousand two hundred pounds of—
   Tobacco Debt afd as also the Sume of Three hundred ninety nine
   pounds of Tobacco Cast by the afd abt his Suite in this behalfe laid out & Ex
   pended and by the Court here of his assent adjudged And that the Said
