   After which Comes into Court Mr. Edward Scott of this County and Acknowledg:
  :ed himselfe Special bayle to the afd Accõn and undertakes the paymt
   of the debt afd and Cost thereon accrueing if in Case the afd Plt Shall
   obtaine Judgmt. ag.st the Said Deft~ in the Said Accõn of Debt~ and
   the Said Deft.~ the Condemnation afd Shall not Satisfie nor himselfe
   to the Custody of the Sherf of Said County deliver or that the Said Edward
   Scott the body of the Said Richard Shall not render &ca
   After which the afd Deft in his proper person appeared to the
   above Accõn and prayd liberty thereof to imparle thereto & to
   Answer at next Court which is granted the Same day is given~
   the Plt also ——
   Sarah Jewers | This being an accõn of D.t for the Sume of twelve
           at | hundred pds of Tobo The Same writ was returnd
   John Talbott | Non Est Inventus

Commanded it was to the Sherf of Kent County
   Vestry St Pauls | the Sixteenth day of November in the Second —
   Parish    at | year of the Reigne of his now Majestie George
   Samuel Berry . | &ca. That he take Samuel Berry of Kent County .
   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ | in the Province of Maryland Carpenter ali Dics -
   Saml Berry in ye Cout. & Province aforesd Carpenter if he Should be found
   in his Baylwick & him Safe keep So that he have his body before his
   Said Majesties Justices of the next Court to be held at our Court house
   in the Town of Chester in Said County to Answer unto ye Revd Alixer —
   Williamson & his asotiates vestry men of S.t Pauls Parish in the abovesd
   Cou.t or theire Sucssr of a plea that he render to them ye full & just Sum
   of five hundred pounds of good Sound Marchantable Leafe Tobbo in
   Casque of the value of forty one Shill.s and eight pence Sterlg money
   of Great Brittaine which from him he unjustly detains &ca. And -
   that he have then and there the Said writ &ca. Att which Said next
   Court vizt. the twentieth day of March the Year last mentioned -
   the day of Return of Said writ Came William Frisby Gent~
   high Sherf of Said County and made return thereof in these
