                                         March Court 1715
   Kent County Carpenter ali Dics Willm. Mackey of Kent County in the
   province of Maryland Carpenter was Summoned to Answer unto James
   Harris Gentlman of the County & province aforesd of a plea that he render
   unto him the full and Just Quantity of Nine Hundred and forty pounds of
   good Sound Merchantable leaf Tobacco Clear of grounds Leafs & Trash and
   Casque to Containe the Same which from him he unjustly detains
   And Whereupon the Said James by John Johnson his attry Saith that where:
  :as the afd William the Seventeenth day of August In the Year of our Lord one
   Thousand Seven hundred and fifteen at the Parish of S.t Paul in the County.
   afd & within the Jurisdiciõn of this Court by his certain writing or bill obligatory
   Sealed with the Seale of the Said William & hereinto Court brought whose
   date is ye day and Year afd did acknowledge himselfe to be holden &
   firmly bound unto the Said James Harris in the afd full and Jst Quantity
   of Nine Hundred and forty pounds of good Sound Merchantable leaf Tobacco
   Clear of grounds leafs & Trash and Casque to Contain the Same to be paid
   to the Said James Harris at or upon the tenth day of November next Ensue:
  :ing the date of the Said writing or bill obligatory Yet Nevertheless the afd
   William altho’ often required the Said Nine hundred and forty pounds of
   Tobacco to the Said James Harris hath not rendered or paid but to him to
   render hath hitherto gainsayd & Still doth gainsay Wherefore his Says he
   hath damage to the Value of tenn pounds Sterlg money and thereupon he
   brings Sute     John Johnson pr Querr pls &ca. John Doe Richd Roe~
   And now at this Court Came the afd Plt by his attorney afd and prayd
   that the afd Deft~ might Answr. unto his Decln afd.   The afd Deft being
   Called Came And the afd Plt by his attry afd prays that the afd Deft might
   give Special bayle to the above accõn which is granted and that the Sherf
   of Said County keep the afd Deft.~ in Safe Custody untill he Shall give Special
   bayle : . . . The afd Deft in proper person Comes into Court and Saith that
   he Cannot gainsay the accõn afd of him the Sd Plt nor but that the writing
   obligatory above mentioned is his Act & Deed and that he oweth unto
   the Said Plt. the Sume above mentioned and is willing that Judgm.t
   Should be Entred for the Same and Cost Thereon accrueing Therefore it
   is Considered by the Court here vizt. this Twenty Second day of March—
   Anno Domini one Thousand Seven hundred and fifteen That the Said
   Plt. Recover against the Said Deft~ William Mackey the afd Sume of.
   Nine hundred and forty pounds of Tobacco Debt and also the Sume
