   planter ali Dics Christopher Knight was Summoned to answer unto —
   Benjamin Griffiths of a plea that he render to him ye Sume of five
   hundred and fifty pounds of Marchantable Tobacco & Cask to Contain ye
   Same of ye value forty five Shillings & ten pence Sterlg money of Great
   Brittaine which he unjustly detains &ca. And Whereupon the Said Benjamin
   by Thomas Bowne his Attry Saith that whereas ye afd Christopher ye four:
  :teenth day of 8.ber Anno Domini Seventeen hundred & thirteen at Kent
   County afd within ye Jurisdiciõn of this Court by his Certain Bill obligatory
   which the Said Christopher Sealed with his Seale & as his deed delivered
   hereinto Court brought ye date whereof is ye Same day & year afd bound.
   himselfe his heires Executors & Administrators to pay or cause to be
   paid to ye Said Benjamin his heires Execrs or Adm.rs ye afd Sume of five
   hundred & fifty pounds of Merchantable Tobacco & Cask to Contain ye
   Same of the afd value of forty five Shillings & tenn pence Sterling-
   money of Great Brittain when thereunto required Yet. the afd —
   Christopher altho’ often required ye afd five hundred & fifty pounds.
   of Tobacco to the Said Benjamin hath not rendered nor paid but-
   ye Same to render or pay ye Said Christopher hitherto hath denied &
   Yet denys & unjustly detains to ye damage of the Said Benjamin
   one hundred Shillings Sterling money afd and thereupon he brings
   Sute &ca. TBowne pr Quer plegs &ca. John Doe & Richd Roe   And .
   the Said Deft being called came And the Sd Plt by his afd attry prays
   that the Said Deft~ may give Special Bayle to the afd Accõn which is
   Granted and that he be kept in Custody by the Sherf of Said County untill
   he Shall give Special Bayle   . . .    After which Comes into Court Ebenr
   Blackiston of Said County and Acknowledged himselfe Special Bayle to
   ye above accõn and undertakes ye Payment of the Debt afd & Cost thereon
   accrueing if in Case the Said Plt. Shall obtaine Judgment against the Sd
   Deft~ in the Said Accõ of Debt and the Said Deft the Condemnation
   afd Shall not Satisfie nor himselfe to the Custody of the Sherf of Said
   County deliver or that the afd Ebenezar Blackiston the body of the
