                                      March Court 1715                                       133  
   the afd Ruth being Called Came and in her proper person appeared
   and the afd Indictment being read to her She pleads Guilty and Submits
   her Selfe to the Court ordered by the Court here that the afd Ruth prove
   the begitter of her Child that She was delivered of The Said Ruth takes her
   Corporall Oath on the Holy Evangilists of Almighty God and Saith that
   John Murphey was the person that did Comitt fornication w.th her and
   did thereby begitt her with Child which was the last Child She was —
   delivered of. Therefore it is Considered by the Court here viz.t this —
   twenty first day of March Anno Domini one Thousand Seven——
   hundred and Ffifteen That the afd Ruth Pillow have on bare —
   back fifteen lashes for her Committing fornication as afd according to Act
   of Assembly in Such Cases made &ca. and also the Sume of Three hundred
   and Seven pounds of Tobacco Cost on the Premises ariseing —
   It is Considered by the Court here viz the Same day last mentioned
   that Mr William Frisby Sherf of Said County take the afd Ruth Pillow
   to the whyping Post and there to Receive as in the Judgment afd and
   when Executed to bring her into Court againe
   Afterwards the Same day last mentioned Came the afd Sherf &
   made return of His afd precept with the body of the afd Ruth—
   in all things Served and Executed .
   ordered by the Court here that the Said Ruth pay Ffrancis Collins
   the Sume of Three hundred pounds of Tobacco it being for the
   halfe of the Charge about her lying Inn trouble and disgrace of
   his house at the Same time    ordered by the Court here that—
   Surety be gave for the Same . M.r Samuel Wallis of this County —
   Comes into Court and Saith that he will pay the afd Francis —
   Collins the afd Sume of Three hundred pounds of Tobacco for
   the afd Ruth Pillow    ordered by the Court here that the Said —
   Ruth give Surty for the fees ariseing on the Premises afd M.r Samuel
   Wallis of this County Comes into Court and Saith that he will pay to
   the officers of this Court all fees ariseing on the premises for
   the afd Ruth Pillow &ca—                                          Jams Smith Clk .
