123 Hart Esq.r for the Chooseing four deputys or Deligates to Serve in a Generall assembly to held at the Citty of Annapolis the Twenty third day of Aprill next under his Lord Ship Charles absolute Lord and Proprietarie of the Province of Maryland and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &ca in Pursuance to ye Same vizt.
M.r William Pott Sitts on the bench Whereas it was appointed by a Court held at the Court house the Second day of this Instant March that this was the day appointed for the Choosing four deputys or Deligates M.r William Frisby Sherf of Said County orders that the Electors be called to heare the writ of Election Read and Proclamation being made by the under Sherf of this County for the Gentlemen Electors to appear in Court to hear the writ of Election Read according in Court Immediately was a large appearance The Same writ is by the Clark of the Court Publique Read and then the - Sherf gives the Electors [Some?] Caution and ordrs them to proceed to there Election according goes out and brings in Mr. S.t Leager Codd and no opposition being made Indenture is Signed for him by the Sherf. and Electors The Electors farther Proceed and offer r James Harris and Some offer M.r William Blay against him And the voaters for Each prays - the pole for A pole which is Granted. And upon Examining M.r William Blay Sevrall persons alleag’d they had a free held of Fifty Acres of Land the Act of Assembly & writ of Election directs that the Electors must have a free hold of fifty Acres of Land and a vizable Estate of forty pounds |
