       State of Maryland Prince Georges County to wit:
                                       On this 13.th day of August
       eighteen hundred and forty four before the subscriber
       a justice of the Peace for the county and state aforesaid
       personally appears Sarah Barton of said county
       Mother of Louisa Barton of said county and makes  
       oath in the holy evangely of Almighty God that  
       she the said Sarah Barton was manumitted
       by William Clarke of Talbot County in the said station
       on the ninth day of May 1815 that she the said
       Sarah is the Mother of the said Louisa Barton
       that the said Louisa was born on the 22.d of August
       1815 and that she is free born
                                              sworn before
                                                                Hanson Penn
