       Maryland Prince Georges County sc.t

                      I hereby certify that the bearer hereof
       Christiana Scott a bright mulatto woman about
       twenty nine years of age five feet three inches high
       has a two small scars near each other on the back
       of the neck that the said Christiana Scott is a
       free woman and was set free by William Carroll
       of the County aforesaid by manumission this day
       acknowledged & Recorded in my office

       one half inches high has a scar on the right ear occasioned
       by a cut a ^black^ scar on the outside of the left knee also
       a scar on the inner part of the same knee that the said
       William Carroll is a free man and was set free by William
       Carroll his father of the County aforesaid by manumission
       this day acknowledged & recorded in my office
