242 Maryland Prince Georges County sc.t I hereby certify that Nancy otherwise called Nancy Hawkins the bearer hereof a bright mulatto woman about thirty two years of age five feet four and a quarter Inches high has two scars on her right arm a little below the elbow occasioned by a burn and a scar on her left shoulder That the said Nancy Hawkins is a free woman and became entitled to her freedom in virtue of a Deed of Manumission from Samuel Sprigg duly recorded in the Land Records of said County Certificate granted Oct.o 7.th In Testimony &c Aquila Beall Clk of P G Coty Co.t Maryland Prince Georges County sc.t I hereby certify that the bearer hereof negro James Butler a black man about twenty three years of age five feet Inches high with a scar on the End of the fore finger of the let hand also a small scar on the left ear that the said James Butler is a free man & was born free in the County aforesaid being the son of Fanny Butler a free woman of colour (Seal) Identified by In Testimony &c Oct.o 3.d 1826 M.rs John Ranten Aquila Beall Clk |
