        Maryland Prince Georges County sc.t

                I hereby certify that Nancy otherwise called Nancy
       Hawkins the bearer hereof a bright mulatto woman
       about thirty two years of age five feet four and a quarter
       Inches high has two scars on her right arm a little below
       the elbow occasioned by a burn and a scar on her left shoulder
       That the said Nancy Hawkins is a free woman and became
       entitled to her freedom in virtue of a Deed of Manumission
       from Samuel Sprigg duly recorded in the Land Records
       of said County                                    Certificate granted Oct.o 7.th

       James Butler a black man about twenty three

       the son of Fanny Butler a free woman of colour
