       Maryland Prince Georges County Sc.t

                   I hereby certify that the bearer hereof
       Negro Harriet who calls herself Harriet Shorter
       of a bright complexion four feet ten & a half Inches
       high about thirty three years of age having no scars
       either on her face or hands is a free woman and entitled
       to her freedom by a Deed of manumission from
       Osbourn Sprigg bearing date the first day of
       February in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred
       and eleven
