                I hereby certify that the bearer
       hereof William who calls himself
       William Darcey bright mulatto
       Boy about 18 years old about 5.9½
       high having a small scar over his
       left eye having hair resembling
       that of a white person is a free
       boy & became entitled to his freedom
       by Virtue of a Deed of manumission
       from Edward Darcey bearing even
       date with this certificate & lodged
       in my office to be recorded
                      cert granted 13.th septm 1825
