       State of Maryland Prince Georges County to wit

             I hereby certify that the bearer hereof Nicholas
       Queen a Negro Man of a dark complexion about
       thirty five years old five feet Nine and an half
       inches high having a small scar between his eyebrow
       and a small scar a little above the left
       eye who was raised in Prince Georges County
       is a freeman and was adjudged such by Prince
       Georges County Court at April term seventeen
       Hundred and Ninety six on his petition against
       the Reverend John Ashton

                Given under my hand and seal of office
                this twenty fifth day of April in the year
                of our lord one thousand eight Hundred
                and ten

       The State of Maryland Prince Georges County to wit

             I hereby certify that the bearer hereof Simon
       Queen a Black Man five feet eight inches and a
       half high appearing to be upwards of Fifty
       years old having a scar on the left hand near
       the upper joint of the middle finger and who
       was raised at the white Marsh in the county
       aforesaid is a freeman and became entitled to
       his freedom by the Judgment of Prince Georges
       County Court at April term seventeen hundred
