       Land records of Prince Georges County

                                        In Testimony whereof I have hereto
             (seal p law)         subscribed my name & affixed the
       Identified by              seal of Prince Georges County Court this
                John H Hall      4.th day of May 1824


       Maryland Prince Georges County sct

                   I hereby certify that Joseph otherwise
       called Joseph Butler the bearer hereof a dark
       mulatto man about twenty one years of age five feet
       six inches high has a small scar on his right knee occasioned
       by a burn and a small scar on his left ancle
       is a free man being the reputed son of Patsey Butler
       a free woman

                         In Testimony &c
       Certificate granted 11.th April May 1824

                I hereby Certify that negro Kitty otherwise called
       Kitty Ross the bearer hereof a black girl about seventeen
       years of age five feet four and three quarter inches high a
       small scar on the right arm below the Elbow and two
       scars on the left arm and above the other below the
       Elbow that the said Kitty Ross is a free woman
