                I hereby certify that Negro Ned otherwise
       called Ned Lodge the bearer hereof a black man
       about twenty three years of age five feet three and one
       quarter Inches high has a small scar on the joint of
       the left thumb also a scar on the joint of the fore finger
       that the said Lodge is a free man and was set
       free by Anne Snowden of the county aforesaid by
       manumission duly acknowledged and recorded in my
       office this 21.st day of June 1813
