       Maryland Prince Georges County sc.t

                I hereby certify that Negro Jim otherwise called
       James Lodge the bearer hereof a Black man about
       twenty two years of age five feet six a half inches
       high has a scar on the forehead above the left eye
       also a small scar on the back of the right hand near the
       wrist  That he said James Lodge is a free man and
       was manumitted set free by Anne Snowden of the county
       aforesaid by manumission duly acknowledged and recorded
       in my office the 21.st day of June 1813

                            In Testimony whereof I have hereto
                            subscribed my name and affixed
                            the public seal of my office this
                            fourth day of September Eighteen
                            hundred and twenty two
