       Maryland Prince Georges County Sct

       I hereby certify that negro sandy otherwise called sandy
       Thomas the bearer hereof a black man about twenty
       two years of age five feet six inches high has four
       scars on his Breast That the said Sandy Thomas
       is a free man and obtained his freedom by a
       Deed of Manumission from Hezekiah Wheeler
       dated the twenty second day of June in the year
       Eighteen hundred and five

                      Given under my hand and seal of office
                      this 4 day of September in the year 1821
