       suit ag.t Thomas Clagett at May Term
       1792

                      In Testimony &.c I have hereto
                      subscribed my name and affixed
                      the public &c this 18.th day of sep.t 1821

               I hereby certify that negro Elizabeth
        (otherwise called Elizabeth Butler the bearer
        hereof a black woman about twenty seven years of
       age 5 feet 17 Inches high has a large scar
       appears to have been occasioned by a burn on the
       left jaw  That the said Elizabeth Butler is
       a free woman being the reputed daughter of
       Henry Butler who recovered her freedom in the
       general Court of the State of Maryland in a suit
       against Tho.s Clagett at May Term seventeen
       hundred and ninety two

                            In Testimony &.c   I have &
                                     this 18.th day of Sep.t
