       State of Maryland Prince Georges County to wit
   
             I hereby certify that the bearer hereof a black
       man by the name of James Ambush about
       forty years of age five feet five inches high
       having a wart a little below his right breast
       who was raised in Prince Georges County is a
       Freeman and became entitled to his freedom in
       virtue of a Deed of Manumission from the late
       Thomas H. Hanson bearing date the Eighth
       day of April Eighteen Hundred and three
       duly executed acknowledged and recorded
       the records of the county aforesaid

                   Given under my hand and the seal of my
                   office this Eighteenth day of June in the
                   year one thousand Eight Hundred & Eight

       William Beanes of the Town of Upper Marlborough
       in the county aforesaid is a free woman and
       became entitled to her freedom in virtue of a
