LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch. 8

DEED THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF BALTIMORE ARE VESTED WITH AN
ABSOLUTE ESTATE IN FEE SIMPLE OR A LEASEHOLD ESTATE AS
APPROPRIATE, IN THE PROPERTY AND ANY PERSONS, INCLUDING THE
STATE, WHO HAVE OR MAY HAVE HAD ANY RIGHT, TITLE, INTEREST,
CLAIM, LIEN, OR EQUITY OF REDEMPTION IN THE PROPERTY ARE BARRED
AND FOREVER FORECLOSED OF ALL RIGHT, TITLE, INTEREST, CLAIM,
LIEN, OR EQUITY OF REDEMPTION. THE ESTATE IS SUBJECT TO
EASEMENTS TO WHICH THE PROPERTY IS SUBJECT AND OF WHICH THE MAYOR
AND CITY COUNCIL OF BALTIMORE HAVE ACTUAL OR CONSTRUCTIVE NOTICE
AT THE TIME OF SALE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section formerly appeared as Art. 81,
§ 121.

The former reference to "infants, incompetents,
absentees, and nonresidents", which modified
"persons", is deleted as superfluous.

The only other changes are in style.

14-854. OBTAINING POSSESSION.

ANY PERSON WHO ACQUIRES A DEED TO PROPERTY UNDER THIS
SUBTITLE IS ENTITLED TO ISSUANCE OF A WRIT FOR POSSESSION OF THE
PROPERTY UNDER THE MARYLAND RULES AS IF THE PERSON HAD OBTAINED A
JUDGMENT AWARDING POSSESSION OF THE PROPERTY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section formerly appeared as Art. 81,
§ 122.

In this section, the former references to a "writ of
habere facias possessionem" and having "acquired the
property by virtue of a mortgage foreclosure" are
deleted as obsolete and to conform to the current
Maryland Rules.

The only other changes are in style.

14-855. REPEAL OF INCONSISTENT ACTS; ALLEGANY COUNTY EXEMPT.

ANY ACT, WHETHER PUBLIC GENERAL OR PUBLIC LOCAL,
INCONSISTENT WITH THE PROVISIONS OF PARTS I THROUGH III OF THIS
SUBTITLE, IS REPEALED TO THE EXTENT OF THE INCONSISTENCY; BUT ALL
LAWS REPEALED BY THIS SUBTITLE SHALL NEVERTHELESS REMAIN IN FORCE
IN RESPECT TO ANY TAX SALE MADE OR INSTITUTED BEFORE DECEMBER 31,
1943. ANY TAX SALES MADE OR INSTITUTED AFTER DECEMBER 31, 1943,
SHALL BE MADE ONLY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF PARTS I
THROUGH III OF THIS SUBTITLE. HOWEVER, ALL LAWS REPEALED BY THIS
