(2) This monitoring and testing program include, at a
minimum, testing for the contaminants and pollutants that are
required to be regulated under the Federal Safe Drinking Water
Act in 42 U.S.C. § 300C-1, and include testing on at least an
annual basis at selected sites around the State for the
pollutants that are required to be listed under the Federal Clean
Water Act in 33 U.S.C. § 1317(a)(1); and
(3) The monitoring and testing of ambient
groundwater, groundwater at points of withdrawal, and groundwater
at the point of use be repeated periodically, but at least
annually, to establish baseline and trend data for contaminants.
To the extent possible, the same sites be tested periodically;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That:
(1) The Interagency Coordinating Council for
Groundwater Protection The Department of Health and Mental
Hygiene report on or before July 1, 1986 and annually thereafter
by July 1 of each year on the development and implementation of a
comprehensive groundwater protection strategy and on the
coordinated efforts by State agencies in groundwater protection
and supply; and
(2) This annual report contain an analysis of any
contamination or substantial depletion of groundwater supplies
and the potential for contamination or depletion of groundwater
in the future; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be forwarded by the
Department of Legislative Reference to the Honorable Harry R.
Hughes, Governor of Maryland; the Honorable Torrey C. Brown,
M.D., Secretary of Natural Resources, Tawes State Office
Building, 580 Taylor Avenue, Annapolis, Md. 21401; the Honorable
Adele Wilzack, R.N., M.S., . Secretary of Health and Mental
