Article 27 - Crimes and Punishments
111.

(A)  Any person who shall wilfully and maliciously destroy,
injure, deface or molest any real or personal property of another
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor [and, upon conviction
thereof, shall be subject to imprisonment for a period of not
more than three years or to a fine not more than $2,500, or to
both imprisonment and fine].

(B)  IF THE PROPERTY DEFACED, DESTROYED, INJURED, OR
MOLESTED HAS A VALUE OF LESS THAN $300, THE PERSON WHO VIOLATES
THIS SECTION, ON CONVICTION, IS SUBJECT TO A FINE NOT EXCEEDING
$500 OR IMPRISONMENT NOT EXCEEDING 60 DAYS OR BOTH.

(C)  IF THE PROPERTY DEFACED, DESTROYED, INJURED, OR
MOLESTED HAS A VALUE OF $300 OR MORE, THE PERSON WHO VIOLATES
THIS SECTION, ON CONVICTION, IS SUBJECT TO A FINE NOT EXCEEDING
$2,500 OR IMPRISONMENT NOT EXCEEDING 3 YEARS OR BOTH.

(d)  A police officer may arrest a person without a warrant
if he has probable cause to believe:

(1)  That an offense listed in subsection (e) of this
section has been committed, and

(2)  That the person has committed the offense, and

(3)  That unless the person is immediately arrested,

(i) 'He may not be apprehended, or

(ii) He may cause injury to the person or
damage to the property of one or more other persons, or

(iii) He may tamper with, dispose of, or
destroy evidence.

(e)  The offenses referred to in subsection (d) of this
section are:

(1)  Those offenses specified in the following
sections of Article 27, as they may be amended from time to time:

(iv) Section 111 (relating to destroying,
injuring, etc., property of another);

(2)  Attempts to commit the offenses specified in the
following sections of Article 27 as they may be amended from time
to time;

(iii) Section 111 (relating to destroying,
injuring, etc., property of another);
