Ch. 478

14-301.

(a) The director may, or upon the request of any person
entitled to be a guardian, shall investigate fully each report
that an adult is unable to provide for [his] THE ADULT'S daily
needs sufficiently to protect [his] THE ADULT'S health or safety.
If, in the course of the investigation, a representative of the
local department believes that an emergency exists, the
representative may contact the local law enforcement agency. The
law enforcement officer shall accompany the representative, and,
if the officer agrees that an emergency exists, as described in §
13-709(a) of the Estates and Trusts Article, the officer shall
transport the person to an appropriate health care facility as
provided in § 13-709(a) of the Estates and Trusts Article.

14-404.

(a) (2) The review board may review a case before 6 months
has elapsed if the disabled [individual] PERSON files a petition
for early review.

(c) The disabled [individual] PERSON shall;

(1)  attend each review board hearing if the disabled
[individual] PERSON is able to attend; and

(2)  be represented at each review board hearing by:

(i) the lawyer that the disabled [individual]
PERSON chooses; or

(ii) a lawyer who is appointed by the court.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section(s)
14-101(d) and (e), respectively, of Article - Family Law of the
Annotated Code of Maryland be renumbered to be Section(s)
14-101(e) and (f), respectively.

. SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of
Maryland read as follows:

Article - Family Law

14-101.

(D) "LOCAL DEPARTMENT" MEANS THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL
SERVICES IN THE POLITICAL SUBDIVISION WHERE THE ADULT REQUIRING
PROTECTIVE SERVICES LIVES.

SECTION 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the provisions
of this Act are intended solely to correct technical errors in
