14-101.
(a) In this [subtitle] TITLE the following words have the
meanings indicated.
14-402.
(a) (2) Of the 9 members:
(ii) 2 shall be physicians, including 1
psychiatrist from the local HEALTH departments [of health] that
employ psychiatrists;
14-404.
(a) (1) At least [twice each year] EVERY 6 MONTHS the
review board shall review each guardianship that a public agency
holds.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of
Maryland read as follows:
Article - Family Law
14-101.
(c) "Director" means the director of the local department
[of social services in the political subdivision where the adult
requiring protective services lives].
14-102.
(b) To implement this policy the Secretary [of Human
Resources], with the advice of the State Director on Aging and
the Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene, is responsible for
establishing and supervising a program of adult protective
services to be administered by each local department [of social
services].
14-201.
(a) The Secretary [of Human Resources], with the advice of
the Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene and the State Director
of the Office on Aging, shall develop, supervise, and cause each
LOCAL department [of social services] to implement a program of
protective services for disabled persons and other adults who
because of physical or mental disabilities require assistance in
providing for their daily needs.
(c) (2) The protective services program shall be funded as
provided in the State budget. However, this [subtitle] TITLE
does not prevent any appropriation of additional funds by any
county[, including Baltimore City,] for adult protective
services.
