SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 12 - Garrett County

7-5.

Each member of the Board of County Commissioners of Garrett
County shall receive as salary a total sum of [$16,500] $18,000
annually. Each commissioner shall also receive, exclusive of
salary, an annual expense allowance of not less than twelve
hundred dollars ($1200.00), provided that he submit an itemized
account substantiating the amount of his expenses. These sums
shall be paid in monthly installments.

Article 25 - County Commissioners

(j) (1) The county treasurer of Garrett County shall
receive an annual salary of [at least $18,000] $22,000. Subject
to the approval of the County Commissioners, the county treasurer
shall appoint a deputy treasurer. It is further provided that
when and at such time as the county treasurer shall determine
that he is in need of additional assistance, the County
Commissioners shall provide the additional employee or employees
