(XIV) 1 SHALL BE FROM A LOCAL HEALTH
DEPARTMENT;
(XV) 1 SHALL BE A MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL;
(XVI) 1 SHALL BE FROM A NONPUBLIC PRESCHOOL
SERVING THE HEARING IMPAIRED;
(XVII) 2 SHALL BE PARENTS OF YOUNG HEARING
IMPAIRED CHILDREN; AND
(XVIII) 3 SHALL BE AUDIOLOGISTS FROM
ADMINISTRATIVELY DISTINCT AUDIOLOGICAL CENTERS.
(C)(1) THE TERM OF A MEMBER IS 3 YEARS.
(2) THE TERMS OF MEMBERS ARE STAGGERED AS REQUIRED BY
THE TERMS PROVIDED FOR THE MEMBERS OF THE ADVISORY COUNCIL ON
JULY 1, 1985.
(3) AT THE END OF A TERM, A MEMBER CONTINUES TO SERVE
UNTIL A SUCCESSOR IS APPOINTED AND QUALIFIES.
(4) A MEMBER WHO IS APPOINTED AFTER A TERM HAS BEGUN
SERVES ONLY FOR THE REST OF THE TERM AND UNTIL A SUCCESSOR IS
APPOINTED AND QUALIFIES.
(5) A MEMBER MAY NOT BE APPOINTED FOR MORE THAN 2
CONSECUTIVE FULL TERMS.
(D)(1) EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THIS SUBSECTION,
FROM AMONG ITS MEMBERS THE ADVISORY COUNCIL ANNUALLY SHALL ELECT
ITS OFFICERS.
(2) THE MEMBER FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND
MENTAL HYGIENE SHALL BE THE INITIAL CHAIRMAN FOR A 1-YEAR TERM.
(I) 1 SHALL BE A PHYSICIAN;
(II) 3 SHALL BE FROM THE FIELD OF EDUCATION;
1. 1 SHALL BE FROM THE MARYLAND STATE
DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION;
2. 1 SHALL BE FROM THE MARYLAND SCHOOL
FOR THE DEAF; AND
3. 1 SHALL BE AN EDUCATOR OF - THE DEAF
FROM A LOCAL EDUCATION AGENCY;
(III) 1 SHALL BE FROM THE MARYLAND DEPARTMENT
OF HEALTH AND MENTAL HYGIENE;
(IV) 1 SHALL BE A MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL
WITH EXPERTISE IN THE AREA OF DEAFNESS;
