13-502.
(A) THE SECRETARY SHALL ESTABLISH A PROGRAM FOR THE EARLY
IDENTIFICATION AND FOLLOW-UP OF INFANTS WHO HAVE A RISK FACTOR
FOR DEVELOPING A HEARING IMPAIRMENT.
(B) THE PROGRAM SHALL BE BASED ON THE MODEL SYSTEM
DEVELOPED BY THE DEPARTMENT.

(A) THERE IS AN ADVISORY COUNCIL FOR THE PROGRAM.
(B) (1) THE ADVISORY COUNCIL CONSISTS OF 21 10 MEMBERS
APPOINTED BY THE SECRETARY.
(2) OF THE 21 10 MEMBERS:
(I) 1 SHALL BE A MEMBER OF THE SENATE OF
MARYLAND APPOINTED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE;
(II) 1 SHALL BE A MEMBER OF THE HOUSE OF
DELEGATES OF MARYLAND APPOINTED BY THE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE;
(III) 1 SHALL BE FROM THE DEPARTMENT;
(IV) 1 SHALL BE FROM THE MEDICAL AND
CHIRURGICAL FACULTY OF MARYLAND;
(V) 1 SHALL BE FROM THE MARYLAND CHAPTER OF THE
AMERICAN ACADEMY OF PEDIATRICS;
(VI) 1 SHALL BE FROM THE MARYLAND
OTOLARYNGOLOIGICAL SOCIETY;
(VII) 1 SHALL BE FROM THE MARYLAND HOSPITAL
ASSOCIATION;
(VIII) 1 SHALL BE FROM THE MARYLAND
SPEECH LANGUAGE HEARING ASSOCIATION;
(IX) 1 SHALL BE FROM THE MARYLAND ASSOCIATION
OF THE DEAF;
(X) 1 SHALL BE FROM THE MARYLAND ASSOCIATION
FOR HEARING IMPAIRED CHILDREN;
(XI) 1 SHALL BE FROM THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF
EDUCATION;
(XII) 1 SHALL BE FROM THE MARYLAND SCHOOL FOR
THE DEAF;
(XIII) 1 SHALL BE FROM A LOCAL EDUCATIONAL
AGENCY;
