designated unless in his judgment all of said persons shall be
unfit or incompetent, in which case he shall file a written
statement to that effect with the Secretary of State, setting
forth [such] THE facts and the grounds therefor and shall call
upon the said committees for Prince George's County for another
list of [six] 6 names for each position to be filled, from which
list and the original list he shall make the appointments.
[Provided, in] IN Prince George's County, [upon the expiration of
the terms of the present commissioners in office, on June 1,
1971, the Governor shall appoint in the manner hereinabove
provided, one commissioner for a term of one year, one for a term
of two years and one for a term of three years. Thereafter all
terms shall be for three years and not more than two of said
appointees shall belong to the same political party] THE TERM OF
A MEMBER IS 3 YEARS. THE TERMS OF THE MEMBERS ARE STAGGERED AS
REQUIRED BY THE TERMS PROVIDED FOR MEMBERS OF THE BOARD ON JULY
1, 1985. NOT MORE THAN 3 4 OF THE APPOINTEES SHALL BELONG TO THE
SAME POLITICAL PARTY.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That both of the 2
members appointed to the Prince George's County Board of License
Commissioners under this Act, 1 shall be appointed from the
political party obtaining the highest number of votes in the
county in the 1984 1982 gubernatorial general election and 1
shall serve until June 1, 1986, and 1 shall serve until June 1,
1987. The other member shall be appointed from the political
party obtaining the next highest number of votes in the county in
the 1984 general election and shall serve until June 1, 1986.
The Governor shall appoint each member according to the
requirements and procedures provided in this Act. Upon the
expiration of the terms of the additional members appointed under
this Act all terms shall be for 3 years.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1985.
