engaged in [said] THE business or any class [thereof] OF IT shall
continue in [said] THE business of master electrician, such
person shall apply to [said] THE Board for a license, as herein
required, whereupon the applicant shall present himself before
[said] THE Board at a time and place fixed by [said] THE Board.

(2) Each applicant shall pay an application fee of
[twenty-five dollars ($25.)] $25, which shall entitle the
applicant to [three (3)] 3 examinations; each examination must be
not more than [six (6)] 6 months apart.

[B. Examination. If the Board shall find, upon due
examination, that the applicant presenting himself has a
reasonable knowledge of electricity and the natural laws and
functions of electric wires, appliances and devices for electric
light, heat and power purposes and is possessed of skill and
knowledge in all matters appertaining to the business of master
electrician, as defined in this chapter, then said Board, upon
payment of the fee and upon executing the bond herein provided
for, shall issue to said person a license as master electrician
to practice said business for a term of one (1) year and shall
register such person as a duly licensed master electrician;
provided, however, no person who shall have been engaged as a
bona fide contractor in the electrical contracting business in
St. Mary's County for a period of three (3) years prior to June
1, 1939, shall be required to take the examination as provided in
this section before the issuance of such license, and provided
that no license shall be granted to any person under the age of
twenty-one (21) years, nor shall a license be granted to any
person who has not taken and subscribed an oath that he has had
at least three (3) years' actual experience as a master
electrician within the meaning of this chapter or as journeyman
electrician in such class or classes of electrical business or
work as, in the opinion of the Board, shall have properly fitted
the applicant for a license as a master electrician.]

B. EXAMINATIONS. (1) EXAMINATION FOR LICENSES SHALL BE
HELD AT TIMES AND PLACES WITHIN THE COUNTY TO BE DETERMINED BY
THE BOARD.

(2)  EXAMINATIONS SHALL BE HELD AT LEAST 4 TIMES
ANNUALLY.

(3)  APPLICATIONS SHALL BE FILED BEFORE THE FIRST
TUESDAY OF THE MONTH THE EXAMINATION IS TO BE HELD.

(4)  EACH APPLICANT SHALL TAKE AND PASS AN OBJECTIVE
WRITTEN EXAMINATION TO DETERMINE FITNESS FOR A LICENSE.

(5)  THE PASSING GRADE SHALL BE 70 PERCENT, AND THE
NOTICE FOR THE EXAMINATION SHALL SPECIFY THE PASSING GRADE.

(6)  THE EXAMINATION PROMULGATED BY THE BOARD SHALL
REQUIRE KNOWLEDGE OF ALL APPLICABLE CODES OR OTHER RULES, LAWS,
OR PRINCIPLES OF ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS FROM A LIST OF
