furnish a bond; altering the requirements, procedures,
qualifications, and other provisions relating to the
examination and licensure of electricians by that Board;
altering reporting and budgeting requirements and procedures
relating to that Board; making stylistic changes; and
generally relating to the operations of the Board of
Electrical Examiners of St. Mary's County.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

The Public Local Laws of St. Mary's County

Section 38-2, 38-6, and 38-16

Article 19 - Public Local Laws of Maryland

(1978 Edition and September, 1984 Supplement, as amended)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 19 - St. Mary's County

38-2.

A.  The members of [said] THE Board shall respectively take
and subscribe the oath required by other state officers.

B.  The County Commissioners shall designate [one (1)] 1
member to be Chairman, who shall serve for [one (1)] 1 year and
may succeed himself.

C.  The Board has the power to elect out of its number a
Secretary and Treasurer, [who shall furnish a bond at the Board's
expense in such amount as may be determined by the County
Commissioners,] and to adopt such rules and regulations and
bylaws, not inconsistent with this chapter, for the transaction
of business of the Board as they may deem expedient, and which
rules, regulations and bylaws shall have the full force of law
upon filing [same] THEM with the Clerk of the Circuit Court for
St. Mary's County.

D.  (1) All inactive records of the Board shall be
maintained in official files in the office of the County
Commissioners.

(2)  Active, working files of the Board shall be kept
in the custody of the Secretary.

(3)  Board records shall be maintained for a period of
at least [seven (7)] 7 years.

38-6.

A. Application. (1) Before any person shall hereafter
engage in the business of a master electrician in St. Mary's
County, as defined in this chapter, and before any person now
