Section 14-843

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Tax - Property
14-843.
On redemption, the plaintiff or the holder of the
certificate of sale shall be entitled to be reimbursed for
expenses actually incurred in any proceeding or in preparation
for any proceeding to foreclose the right of redemption. In
addition, the plaintiff or the holder of the certificate of sale,
on redemption, shall be entitled to be reimbursed for fees
actually paid for recording the certificate of sale, for actual
attorney's fees that do not exceed the sum of [$100] $250 FOR
EACH CERTIFICATE OF SALE OR 10% OF THE TAX, INTEREST, AND PENALTY
DUE ON EACH PROPERTY REDEEMED AT THE TIME OF THE TAX SALE OF THE
PROPERTY, WHICHEVER IS GREATER, for expenses actually incurred in
the service of process by publication, for fees for a necessary
title search that do not exceed $75 for each property, except
that the court, on proof that the search was unusually difficult,
may allow not more than $100 for each search, and for tax,
together with interest and penalties on the tax, arising after
the date of sale that have been actually paid by the plaintiff.
The plaintiff or the holder of the certificate of sale is not
entitled to be reimbursed for any other expenses.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect February 1, 1986.
