(iv) A master's degree in public health or
environmental health sciences that includes:

1.  30 semester units or 45 quarter units
of basic sciences that meet the educational standards set by the
Board;

2.  A course in mathematics and at least 1
laboratory course in 3 of the following fields: chemistry,
physics, microbiology, and biology; and

3.  3 months of internship approved by the
Board if not previously completed; or

(v) A baccalaureate degree in a field other
than environmental science or natural science; and

1.  48 months of experience, acceptable to
the Board, in the field of environmental health; or

2.  The applicant has at least 10 years of
experience in the field of environmental health that meets the
standards set by the Board; or

(2)  Has at least 6 months' experience and passes the
examination specified in § 5.5-304; and

(3)  (i) Submits an application to the Board on the
form that the Board requires; and

(ii) Pays to the Board an application fee to
cover the costs of issuance of certificates.

(f)  All those individuals not currently practicing in the
profession as of the effective date of this new law must qualify
for, take, and pass the examination set forth in § 5.5-305; and

(g)  For those individuals whose primary professional
activities are not public health oriented as defined in §
5.5-101(g), registration under this title is not required. Such
occupational activities may include but are not limited to those
performed by industrial hygienists, health planners, geologists,
meteorologists, natural resources planners, building and housing
inspectors, paraprofessional aids, technicians, and registered
professional engineers registered in this State whose
professional activities are normally included under subsections
5.5-101(e) and (g).]

THIS TITLE DOES NOT LIMIT THE RIGHT OF  AN   INDIVIDUAL TO

PRACTICE A HEALTH OCCUPATION THAT THE INDIVIDUAL   IS  AUTHORIZED TO

PRACTICE UNDER THIS ARTICLE OR THE HEALTH    -     ENVIRONMENTAL
ARTICLE.
