Article 20 - Public Local Laws of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 20 - Somerset County
28B.
FOR THE PURPOSE OF ASSISTING IN THE FUNDING OF THE
CONSTRUCTION AND EQUIPPING OF A JAIL FACILITY IN SOMERSET COUNTY,
THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF SOMERSET COUNTY MAY BORROW
ON THE FULL FAITH AND CREDIT OF THE COUNTY AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $1,500,000 FROM THE UNITED STATES OR ANY OF ITS AGENCIES
OR FROM PRIVATE LENDING INSTITUTIONS ON SUCH TERMS AND CONDITIONS
AS MAY BE REQUIRED BY THE APPROPRIATE LENDER WITHOUT LIMITATION
BY PUBLIC GENERAL OR PUBLIC LOCAL LAW AT PUBLIC OR PRIVATE SALE
AND AT SUCH RATE OR RATES OF INTEREST AS THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS DEEMS REASONABLE.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health and safety and having
been passed by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of
all the members elected to each of the two Houses of the General
Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date of its
passage.

AN ACT concerning
Racing - Taxes and Days
FOR the purpose of altering the number of thoroughbred track
licensees and the racing days assigned to those licensees;
providing that the award of certain racing days constitutes
a license; altering the maximum number of days which may be
run by a licensee; prohibiting thoroughbred racing after a
certain time, except under certain circumstances; directing
the Commission to seek cooperative stabling arrangements;
requiring a certain licensee to file a schedule by a certain
