MUNICIPAL CHARTERS
Garrett County (The Charter of Grantsville) sets forth particular
bidding requirements for purchases exceeding $1,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Town Council is desirous of
increasing this limitation due to significant price increases for
materials and services throughout the past several years,
[Section 18-63 of the Charter of the Town of Grantsville,
Garrett County, as found in the compilation of Municipal Charters
of Maryland (1983 Edition), repealed and reenacted, with
amendments.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GREENBELT, ADOPTED PURSUANT TO THE
AUTHORITY OF ARTICLE 11E OF THE CONSTITUTION OF MARYLAND AND
SECTION 13 OF ARTICLE 23A OF THE ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND,
SUBTITLE "HOME RULE", TO AMEND THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF
GREENBELT FOUND, IN WHOLE OR IN PART, IN THE COMPILATION OF
MUNICIPAL CHARTERS OF MARYLAND (1983), AS PREPARED BY THE
DEPARTMENT OF LEGISLATIVE REFERENCE PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 77 OF THE
ACTS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND OF 1983, BY REPEALING
AND REENACTING WITH AMENDMENTS SUBSECTION 9 OF SECTION 3, TITLE
"GENERAL POWERS", TO PROVIDE THAT FINES FOR THE VIOLATION OF
ORDINANCES OR REGULATIONS SHALL NOT EXCEED $500; AND TO PROVIDE
THAT A VIOLATION OF AN ORDINANCE OR REGULATION MAY BE DECLARED A
MUNICIPAL INFRACTION, A CIVIL OFFENSE.
