EXECUTIVE ORDERS
(2) One member of the House of Delegates
nominated by the Speaker of the House;
(3) Four individuals who are representatives
of and nominated by public and private
agencies and organizations concerned with
the provision of services to
developmentally disabled citizens; and
(4) Five individuals who have an interest in
or expertise in matters pertaining to
developmentally disabled citizens.
D. The Governor shall select the Chairperson of the
Commission from among the members appointed
under Section II, paragraphs A and C.
E. The Governor may remove any member of the
Commission, who is not an ex officio designate,
for any cause adversely affecting the member's
ability or willingness to perform his or her
duties.
F. In case of a vacancy, the Governor shall appoint
a successor.
G. The members appointed under Section II,
paragraph A, subparagraphs (1), (2), and (3),
may, in writing, designate an alternate to
represent them on the Commission and exercise
the member's power to vote.
H. A majority of the Commission shall constitute a
quorum for the transaction of any business. The
Commission may adopt any other procedures
necessary to ensure the orderly transaction of
business.
I. The members of the Commission may not receive
any compensation for their services. The public
members may be reimbursed for their reasonable
expenses incurred in the performance of duties,
in accordance with the standard travel
regulations, and as provided in the State
budget.
J. The Commission shall employ staff as provided in
the State budget. The Governor's Office on
Coordination of Services to the Handicapped and
the Departments represented on the Commission
shall provide such additional staff support as
necessary and appropriate.
