FOR ANY CAUSE SHALL BE FILLED BY APPOINTMENT BY THE GOVERNOR FOR
THE BALANCE OF THE UNEXPIRED TERM. MEMBERS SHALL SERVE UNTIL
THEIR SUCCESSORS ARE APPOINTED.
(D) EACH MEMBER OF THE BOARD SHALL RECEIVE A SALARY OF
$3,600 ANNUALLY, AND SHALL BE ENTITLED TO REIMBURSEMENT FOR
REASONABLE EXPENSES UNDER THE STANDARD STATE TRAVEL REGULATIONS.
(E) BEFORE TAKING OFFICE, EACH APPOINTEE TO THE BOARD SHALL
TAKE THE OATH REQUIRED BY ARTICLE I, SECTION 9 OF THE STATE
CONSTITUTION.
533.
(A) THE BOARD SHALL MEET AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH IN A
LOCATION AND OFFICE PROVIDED BY THE STATE. AT THEIR FIRST
MEETING, AND ANNUALLY THEREAFTER, THE BOARD SHALL MEET TO ELECT A
CHAIRMAN, VICE CHAIRMAN, AND SECRETARY FROM THEIR MEMBERSHIP
WHOSE TERMS SHALL EXPIRE ON JUNE 30. SPECIAL MEETINGS OF THE
BOARD MAY BE HELD AS THE BOARD PROVIDES IN ITS RULES AND
REGULATIONS. FIVE MEMBERS OF THE BOARD SHALL CONSTITUTE A
QUORUM.
(B) THE BOARD SHALL HAVE THE EMPLOYEES PROVIDED IN THE
STATE BUDGET.
(C) THE POWERS OF THE BOARD ARE LIMITED TO THE POWERS
DESCRIBED UNDER THIS SUBTITLE, INCLUDING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF
INDUSTRY STANDARDS, THE ADMINISTRATION OF EXAMINATIONS, AND THE
ISSUANCE OF LICENSES.
(C) IN ADDITION TO THE POWERS SET FORTH ELSEWHERE IN THIS
SUBTITLE, THE BOARD MAY:
(1) ESTABLISH INDUSTRY STANDARDS;
(2) ADMINISTER EXAMINATIONS; AND
(3) ISSUE LICENSES.
(D) TWICE A YEAR THE STATE BOARD SHALL INVITE MEMBERS FROM
EACH LOCAL LICENSING JURISDICTION TO ATTEND A SEMINAR TO DISCUSS
ANY INDUSTRY OR LICENSING PROBLEMS.
(E) THE BOARD MAY APPOINT A COMMITTEE TO DEVELOP FUTURE
EXAMINATION QUESTIONS TO BE UTILIZED ON THE EXAMINATIONS OF
APPLICANTS FOR LICENSURE.
(F) THE BOARD MAY ADOPT RULES AND REGULATIONS TO CARRY OUT
THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SUBTITLE.
(G) (F) ANY MEMBER OF THE BOARD, OR DULY APPOINTED HEARING
OFFICER DESIGNATED BY THE BOARD, MAY ADMINISTER OATHS, HOLD
HEARINGS AND TAKE TESTIMONY ABOUT ALL MATTERS WITHIN THE
JURISDICTION OF THE BOARD.
