THAT THE BUS TRANSIT SYSTEM OF THE WASHINGTON METROPOLITAN AREA
TRANSIT AUTHORITY PREVIOUSLY PROVIDED. OPERATED PRIOR TO THE
EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS SECTION. THE AMOUNT OF COMPARABLE BUS
SERVICE ELIGIBLE FOR THE DEPARTMENT'S GRANTS SHALL BE LIMITED TO
THE NUMBER OF BUS PLATFORM MILES AND PLATFORM HOURS PREVIOUSLY
OPERATED BY THE WASHINGTON METROPOLITAN AREA TRANSIT AUTHORITY ON
THE REPLACED SERVICE.
(C) (D) THE DEPARTMENT'S SHARE SHALL EQUAL 75 PERCENT OF
THE OPERATING DEFICIT OF A LOCAL BUS SYSTEM FOR BUS SERVICE
DESCRIBED IN SUBSECTION (C) OF THIS SECTION.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1984 and shall remain effective for a period
of 2 years, and at the end of June 30, 1986, and with no further
action required by the General Assembly, this Act shall be
abrogated and of no further force and effect.

AN ACT concerning
Procurement - Small Business Set-Aside
FOR the purpose of altering the procedures for implementation of
the small business set-aside program; eliminating the set
percentage preference given to small businesses for certain
contracts and substituting a process of differing
percentages, not to exceed a certain amount, set by certain
officials; providing for certain approval by the Board of
Public Works; altering provisions for qualification of
businesses as "small businesses"; clarifying language; and
generally relating to the small business set-aside program.
