purchasers of hazardous or toxic substances certain
information; requiring that this information be transmitted
in a certain form to the State Department of Health and
Mental Hygiene; providing for exceptions; allowing certain
employees and employee representatives access to certain
information regarding hazardous and toxic substances
maintained by an employer; providing to employees certain
rights to obtain information or access to information from
an employer; requiring an employer to provide certain
training and education to certain employees; requiring an
employer to provide certain information to fire department
officials; providing certain protection and procedures when
a trade secret claim is asserted; providing for the scope of
this Act; and generally relating to hazardous and toxic
substances.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 89 - Division of Labor and Industry

Section 28(c)(10)

BY adding to

Article 89 - Division of Labor and Industry

Section 28(c)(13), (14), and (15) and 32A through 32N,

inclusive

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 89 - Division of Labor and Industry

28.

The General Assembly of Maryland finds that,

(c) It is the intent and purpose of this subtitle to assure
as far as possible every working man and woman in the State of
Maryland safe and healthful working conditions and to preserve
our human resources by:

(10) Encouraging joint labor-management efforts to
reduce injuries and disease arising out of employment; [and]

(13) PROVIDING FOR THE DISSEMINATION OF INFORMATION
RELATING TO HEALTH AND SAFETY HAZARDS POSED BY TOXIC AND
HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES WHICH WORKERS ARE EXPOSED TO;
