AN ACT concerning

Highways - Bridges and Culverts

FOR the purpose of requiring certain local authorities when
imposing a restriction on certain bridges or culverts to
submit to the State Highway Administration a statement that
a structural analysis has shown the necessity for the
restriction; specifying the information to be included in
the required statement; and repealing the requirement for
the submittal of an engineering analysis.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

24-206.

(b) (1) Except as provided in    paragraph (2) of this

subsection, a local authority may not    impose any restriction

under this section without approval     of the State Highway
Administration.

(2) The following local authorities do not require
the approval of the State Highway Administration, if they submit
to that Administration, at the time of placing any sign under
this section, a [copy of the engineering analysis on which its
restrictions are based:] STATEMENT THAT A STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS
HAS SHOWN THE NECESSITY FOR THE PARTICULAR RESTRICTION:

(i) Allegany County;

(ii) Anne Arundel County;

(iii) Baltimore County;

(iv) Carroll County;

(v) Frederick County;

(vi) Harford County;
