HARRY HUGHES, Governor                                         1383

(2) THE STATE ARCHIVIST SHALL KEEP EACH LIST OF THE
MATERIALS DESTROYED UNDER THIS SECTION. THE LIST SHALL BE
AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC INSPECTION AT REASONABLE TIMES.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Art. 54, §
11(a), as it related to State units, and the second
clause of § 8(b).

In the introductory language of subsection (a) of this
section, the reference to the "written approval of the
Commission" is substituted for the former reference to
the "approval of the Archivist ... under ... § 8", to
conform to § 10-638 of this subtitle, which requires
the written approval of the Commission.

In subsection (b) of this section, the substance     of

the second and third sentences of former Art. 54,    § 8

is substituted for the former authority to "under     the

provisions of § 8, of this subtitle, cause     the

original records ... to be disposed of as the     law
provides", for clarity.

Defined term: "Commission" § 10-636

GENERAL REVISOR'S NOTE TO SUBTITLE:

Former Art. 76A, §§ 1 through 5 and former Art. 54, §§ 8
through 11(a) applied to public bodies of the State and of its
political subdivisions. This subtitle includes only those former
provisions that related to the State. The provisions that
related to political subdivisions now appear in Art. 24, §§ 5-101
through 5-117 of the Code.

SUBTITLE 7. REORGANIZATIONS.

10-701. SCOPE OF SUBTITLE.

THIS SUBTITLE APPLIES IF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY:

(1)  ABOLISHES A UNIT OF THE STATE GOVERNMENT; OR

(2)  TRANSFERS, WHOLLY OR PARTLY, A FUNCTION OR
AUTHORITY OF THE UNIT TO A SUCCESSOR.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language added to avoid
repetition of the former references such as "abolished
or superseded by any act of the legislature".

10-702. PROPERTY.

(A) "PROPERTY" DEFINED.

IN THIS SECTION, "PROPERTY" MEANS:
