(B) ELECTIONS AND TERMS OF OFFICE.

THE MANNER OF ELECTION OF OFFICERS AND THEIR TERMS OF OFFICE
SHALL BE AS THE VETERANS' HOME COMMISSION DETERMINES.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsection (a) of this section is new
language derived without substantive change from the
first sentence of former Art. 96 1/2, § 56.

Subsection (b) of this section is standard language
added to clarify the manner of election for officers
of the Commission and their terms of office.

In subsection (a) of this section, the reference
"considers appropriate" is substituted for the former
word "determine", for clarity.

As to the ex officio membership of the Chairman of
this Commission on the Maryland Veterans Commission,
see § 9-907(a)(1)(i) of this subtitle.

9-923. QUORUM; MEETINGS; COMPENSATION.

(A)  QUORUM.

SEVEN MEMBERS OF THE VETERANS' HOME COMMISSION ARE A QUORUM
TO DO BUSINESS.

(B)  MEETINGS.

(1)  THE VETERANS' HOME COMMISSION SHALL MEET:

(I)  AT LEAST TWICE A YEAR, AT THE TIMES AND
PLACES THAT IT DETERMINES; AND

(II)  AT THE CALL OF THE CHAIRMAN, ON THE
CHAIRMAN'S INITIATIVE OR ON THE REQUEST OF AT LEAST 4 MEMBERS.

(2)  UNLESS ALL OF THE MEMBERS OF THE VETERANS' HOME
COMMISSION AGREE OTHERWISE, THE SECRETARY OF THE COMMISSION SHALL
GIVE EACH MEMBER AT LEAST 7 DAYS' WRITTEN NOTICE OF A MEETING.

(C)  COMPENSATION AND REIMBURSEMENT FOR EXPENSES.
A MEMBER OF THE VETERANS' HOME COMMISSION:

(1)  MAY NOT RECEIVE COMPENSATION; BUT

(2)  IS ENTITLED TO REIMBURSEMENT FOR EXPENSES UNDER
THE STANDARD STATE TRAVEL REGULATIONS, AS PROVIDED IN THE STATE
BUDGET.
