In subsection (d)(1) and (2) of this section, the
former word "control" is deleted as unnecessary in
light of the broad words "supervise" and
"supervision".

In subsection (f)(3) of this section, the word
"legal", which formerly modified "resident", is
deleted as surplusage.

The second sentence and the second clause of the first
sentence of former Art. 96 1/2, § 19(b), which enabled
the Commission to employ staff under the State Merit
System, are deleted as unnecessary in light of §
9-909(c) of this subtitle and Art. 64A, § 7 of the
Code.

9-914. REGISTRY OF GRAVES.

THE COMMISSION SHALL KEEP A REGISTRY OF THE GRAVES OF
VETERANS WHO ARE BURIED IN THE STATE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the second paragraph
of former Art. 96 1/2, § 6.

The slightly broader defined term "veteran" is
substituted for the former reference to "all persons
who served ... in time of war". This substitution
conforms to practice.

9-917. "HOME" DEFINED.

IN THIS PART III OF THIS SUBTITLE, "HOME" MEANS THE HOME FOR
VETERANS THAT THE MARYLAND VETERANS' HOME COMMISSION SUPERVISES.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language added to avoid
repetition of phrases such as "home established by
the" Maryland Veterans' Home Commission.
